SOCIAL AND ETHICS COMMITTEE REPORT

SOCIAL AND ETHICS REVIEW

Sustainable and responsible corporate citizenship is a key driver of the group’s growth strategy and daily operations. We are committed to continuously improving our operations to reduce an already low environmental impact, maintaining our role as a responsible corporate citizen in preserving environmental resources, making a positive impact on the wider community and encouraging our tenants, customers and suppliers to do the same, while enhancing the workplace for our tenants and employees.

In line with its charter, the board is the custodian of the group’s values, ethics and strategic goals. The board leads by example and embodies the values set out in the code of conduct and ethics. As a business imperative, the board ensures that the company conducts its business with integrity and with a high regard to ethical values and good governance.

The social and ethics committee dealt with a wide range of issues during the year, including social and economic development, environmental, health and public safety, employment equity and black economic empowerment.
